At long last, the 10th Indiana Artisan Marketplace is scheduled for April 2-3 at the Indiana State Fairgrounds Agricultural Horticultural Building! I will be in space #513 doing live demonstrations of silk painting as time permits. I hope to see you there! Tickets are $10 each with discounts when buying 2 or more. Click here to buy tickets online, or stop by either of the two Indiana Artisan stores or Gordy Fine Art & Framing on Main Street in downtown Muncie! Also, keep an eye on my Facebook page as I'll be running a ticket giveaway as well as sharing the giveaways Indiana Artisan is hosting!
I've been a busy little bee making lots of colorful treasures for you, including a 12 piece collection of large-sized 35"x84" dreamy silk scarves. Five are in various designs and colors of my freehand plaids, and the other seven were created with striking motifs and color palettes suitable for weddings and breezy summer date nights in mind. I think you'll be delighted by just how versatile and feminine these larger floaty pieces can be- scrumptious! I truly don't want to sell a single one of them, which is how I know they're perfect for you!
If you happened to see me at the 2019 Marketplace, you might be surprised to see the entirely new booth design I have created for you. Lots of framed art ready to hang in your home, new gift items I've not advertised yet, and a little bit of Christmas too. This is your big chance to see all of the one of a kind pieces I will not be repeating and to claim some things for yourself and early Christmas gifts!
As you've probably noticed since you're reading this on my website, I made several updates to the site a couple of months ago to better reflect my current artistry. When you visit https://www.carriewrightsilk.com, you now land at an entry page where you can choose to enter the art gallery to see all of my framed work currently for sale as well as my past work portfolio; or you can click to enter the Gift Shop. The Gift Shop selection is essentially where you'll find everything my original website has been all along. You can easily get back and forth between the two areas.
You'll also discover on the homepage a brand new addition to my career: workshops! I currently have just three spots left for an in-person training weekend scheduled June 25-26. I'll be taking just four students total in order to create custom curriculums for each of you. All skill levels are welcome, but do be advised that this particular course is priced for the serious artist. If you're interested in learning from my 12+ years of silk painting experience, start the conversation by sending an email. There are no secrets to my makings that I am unwilling to teach you in person. If you're ready to read more or to sign up, click here!
Sometime later this summer or early fall, I will finally be finished creating and editing new virtual learning opportunities. These will be formatted and priced for different skill levels, including a course that will allow you to silk paint for the very first time even if you've never handled dyes. The virtual format will offer you both recorded video instruction and live video conference consultation with me so that you can learn at your own pace. Keep your eyes peeled for those opportunities, and do let me know if you're interested in attending a workshop in person for a weekend other than the June 25-26 schedule.
For now I must sign off and get back to creating all the items I have planned for the Indiana Artisan Marketplace. I'm excited to see all of you again and hope you'll be able to make it out. There are 70+ other fantastic local artists juried into Indiana Artisan who will be just as encouraged as me to see you all, including food and wine makers! As always, let me know if you have any questions, and thank you for following along on my making journey!
